Micklefield C of E Primary is a "nurturing and welcoming place."

Micklefield C of E Primary Academy is celebrating after their recent Ofsted Inspection rated the school as 'Good' in all areas.
The inspectors described our school as a "nurturing and welcoming place" where "pupils feel valued" and are proud of their roles and responsibilities. They praised the positive changes made to the curriculum, the strong start children make in early years, and the high priority placed on reading across the school.
Some key highlights from the report include:
-
“Staff know each pupil well. Pupils feel valued.”
-
“The school has high expectations for all pupils… This is having a positive impact on pupils’ current learning.”
-
“Children make a strong start in the early years… They are well prepared for Year 1.”
-
“The school offers a wide range of well-chosen opportunities to promote pupils’ personal development.”
Headteacher Emma Cook said "This result is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and shared vision of our pupils, staff, governors, and our wider community—including our lovely families. We are especially proud of the recognition for our inclusive ethos, our work to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, and the sense of independence and character developed through our ‘Micklefield Milestones’.
While the report also outlines areas we continue to improve—such as refining curriculum delivery and strengthening support for some pupils with SEND—we are already working on these priorities with clear actions in place. This report affirms the strong direction our school is heading in."
CEO of the Collaborative Learning Trust, Janet Sheriff said “I am absolutely delighted that Ofsted inspectors have recognised the significant progress the school has made in order to deliver high-quality education for pupils in the Micklefield community. The report highlights the positive impact of the work already undertaken, and I am confident that the ambition and commitment of Trust and school leaders, along with staff, will ensure the school continues to go from strength to strength. My sincere thanks go to all staff—both at the school and within the Trust Central Team—for their exceptional, day-in, day-out dedication that has made this success possible.”
